Mindarie Mayhem 14 - Latest Andy Mac Video

Andy Mac's video from last weekend featuring 2 beautiful dhuies and a thumping baldie. Check out the action as Andy 'almost' calls the first one for a ray, lol, but soon changes his mind when he knows its his specialty coming up from the depths.

Its a Ray......no its not.....its a ......

Yep, claimed the ray as a bit of a joke, but I knew what it was after the first head down, come hither run it made. A bit of thumb spooling and I had his head up before Frank could grab the camera.

These three fish were caught in successive drifts over a small lump that I haven't had much success on for quite a while (3 years maybe). I checked a couple of prime lumps nearby that have produced before but there was no fish on the sounder at any of them. A few more lumps were checked then I passed over this one and it was chockers with good size fish.

Frank and I dropped down and frank got hit first but it was only a little blue devil and as I stayed down I got hit maybe 10m past the peak coming down the other side on a southerly drift.

After pulling in the first dhuie we reset the drift and rebaited with the best whole suid I could find and added two small mulies on the snelled hooks for added dangle and attraction. Same again, as soon as we past over the lump and headed down the other side I got hit again by #2 Dhuie.

The third drift was re-set and we missed the lump a little to the side and bang I got monstered by the Baldie as it took off like a freight train. With a preset drag and light line class I feathered the spool with my thumb and managed to keep the fish from racing back to the lump. A really good fight right up to the top and I was very happy to see a baldie hit the surface.

We pulled up stumps after that and left them biting. We quickly put about 20 or 30 plump sand whiting into the scaling bag, ran it off the transom for 5 minutes and ended up with some beautiful whiting fillets, a huge Blackarse for Frank, the two dhuies and the baldie and a 3 or 4 kg Queenie.

Not a bad effort on a day when the wind blew Frank's first hat into the drink and had me hugging the back of staggies for several hours for protection before we headed out around 10am returning by 2-00pm.

Hope you enjoy the vid.

Cheers

Light as a feather and enough grunt to stop most local metro fish, picked it up off the net last year imported from America.
I'm looking forward to this little event but knowing my luck I won't catch a thing. Ah well it doesn't matter as long as we can all catch up for a beer afterwards, which is the main purpose of the event.

I'll try and tone down my excitement on the next vid, make it look like I'm not enjoying myself. (Hehehehe)
You'll get out there soon enough, might even get a berth on the good ship Mackattack one day.

Does the tiara come with a fairy costume as well? We must always co-ordinate one's attire
