Andy Mac's Dhufish Delight # 2 Video

Another highly compressed vid of my day out with Shamu. Features another double header (snapper / sambo) with release, followed by another beautiful 11.5kg Dhufish. This was the first of the dhuies on board and just listen to Shamu on the vid, not a happy camper that I caught it instead of him (hehehe). Little did he know that next drop he would be on. Oh and whilst I edited it out of the vid, the super snell hooks had broken off completely at the dropper loop with high abrasion just above it, god knows how that happened but it got me thinking about those teeth again????? More likely given its distance from the single 7/0 gamakatsu hook that it was caught on, would be the gill plates, but we will never know.

Now thats just so unfair! (heehehhe) Nice vid Andy, you seem to be getting into a bit of a bad habit of calling these big dhues for rays thou. ;)

Dhuie Ray Vaughan

Tue, 2007-01-30 21:20

After seeing my poor old dad struggle for 20 minutes with what he thought was a monster dhuie, only to be so so so disappointed when an eagle ray surfaced, I have taken the opportunity of calling them for a ray since then, so as not to get everyones hopes up. If you look carefully you can see my trademark cheeky grin as I say it though, and that usually gives it away.

Just spoke to Greg next door he has been out all day today and got back at about 7-30pm. They were fishless up until 5pm and then got a couple of baldies, a snapper and a harlequin. He reckons it shut down all day until the top of the tide. That was when we got those two dhuies on Sunday too, so keep that in mind, that you want to be over your best ground at or near the top of the tide.

Cheers

Enjoyed That

Nice Video Andy.

Enjoyed watching it just like the other one from the same day. You have done a great job of putting them together. Looks like you enjoy your fishing videos nearly as much as your fishing. Shamu did well on the camera as well. You could hear the dissapointment in Shamus voice at thinking he missed out "This is unfair" as the Dhuie comes over the side.

Well done to the pair of you on a good day out.

Yep I do enjoy seeing the vids come together. I watch them over and over again reliving the moment and still smile and chuckle when I hear some of the comments, like that one of Shamu's. He did say it with a smile and I was feeling a little guilty about it at the time, well for a nano second maybe (hehehe). We both had fun which is all that counts at the end of the day, otherwise I would have stopped fishing years ago.

These are some of the best days of my life (going fishing) and capturing it on film has been a revalation for me. I know that when I am old(er) and too frail to get out I will be able to watch the vids again and again and get almost as much enjoyment out of that experience 100 times over.

You never know, one day Adam and I may combine our video editing talents and cut together a best of fishwrecked DVD with unseen footage, for general sale. Not sure how many would be interested in buying one but we could always start off small.

Cheers

I think it is something to do with the camera laptop interface but can't quite get it sorted. Might have to call Panasonic while it is still under warranty and get them to fix it. It is annoying and has made me turn the music up and the vid down, but I wanted to keep some of the funny dialogue on there so its been a balancing act.
If I can work out how to cut the audio out in segments then I can solve the problem temporarily.
Glad you liked the vid guys.
Mitch, can't wait for your next installment woo hoo, another big Mackie maybe.

Cheers
