1 March 2012 Wilbinga report
Hey guys,
Few of us went for a fish early thursday morning and did a bit of ballooning and some fishing off the beach. there was a fair bit of weed around the beaches but after driving a few k's we found a nice stretch with none at all
Had 4 balloons out. One of the boys got a nice black tip reef shark on the balloon and we got 2 baits that were smashed. saw the splash below them but cant determine wat it was that hit them.
Sherbs got a nice tailor first thing in the morning and i got a nice little black tip later on in the morning.
Jeffery saw a big sting ray cruising up and down the beach and decided to try to catch it on his 5000 stella. basically he said it was the worst fishing decision he's made after it made its first run that didnt end :P
headed off at about 11am after Jeff and Sherbs had some fun with som herring and Sherbs showed us what a crazy old man he is by driving back to two rocks on the beach (or should i say in the ocean haha)
Overall a great morning :)

Question about Black Tips
Nice fish Jefree. I managed a couple from up there last week or so. Seems there are a few around.
Are Black Tips protected? I thought they were. I always put mine back. Nothing meant here, just a question.

hey Glen087, Yeh if you stick to the tracks and just go in and out of the beaches you will find some very nice reefy sections and very nice clear sandy beaches. Google Maps is your friend :)
