250 Evinrude prop selection

Hi all
Just got myself a 26ft seaswirl striper from the states with a 2008 250cc evinrude on the back.
took it for a spin everything works great except the prop cavitates when turning and in sloppy seas.
it has a 14.8x17 3 blade alloy prop.
What should i put on it? A four Blade stainless?

Yep. Get rid of the ali prop . What rpms was the 17 ali doing at wot. You want to prop it to be at its optimum rpms at WOT. Going to a 4 blade prop for me was a 2" drop in pitch. Engine high is another thing to look at.

We were doing 5500 rpm around 37 mph she sound ok just slipped like hell taking off and turning bloody dangerous!
dont know if they swapped it over before selling it to me but it was pretty bad for this size boat.

I think l remember your boat. Its got antifoul on it from memory. We licensed your trailer for you. As mentioned the rebel will be a good prop. I recon a 15 will be good.

4 blade
Hi mate
I have a Solas Rubex 4 blade (14x21) prop which I recently reclaimed off a fellow member coz it wasnt suited to his Suzuki.
Was going to try it on my boat but I only have a 120HP and the prop will not be suitable on my motor (based on researching...)

Ive got the same donk
I would try a 17 inch rebel prop first they are recommended for this donk if pushing heavy boats. I think the four blade might give you some advantage as well but you will probaly drop to 5200 rpm. Throw the ali prop in the boat as a get me home one.
