Hi guys,
Will be heading up to Coral Bay in a couple months. I have a 3.5m seajay nomad. just wondering on a calm day would it be worth taking it towards the north passage ( Not out ), somewhere between Mauds beach and the north passage.
or is the boat a bit small

not too much fishing wise on
not too much fishing wise on the inside of the north passage.
check the sanctuary zones in that area and make sure you don't fish inside them
have never fished inside the reef (but pretty extensively outside) and occasionally see tinnys on good days outside.
some ground a few ks outside north that you will always get afeed on though.

Weed banks north of CB hold
Weed banks north of CB hold good size squid but as said fish outside the sanctuary zones.
Just watch the weather and head back before the wind picks up.
More drum lines, kill the bloody sharks!

I've done some fishing
I've done some fishing inside the reef a few years ago with not much success, mostly parrot fish. Would sugest towing it up around ningaloo station(roughly 60km north) for the day, not sure if they would allow day trips, would ring and ask first. But fishing the inside of the reef is a lot more productive around there than it is around coral bay. caught plenty of spangled emperor around the bommies inside the reef there. Less sanctuary zones also to worry about.
