8 knotts out of the marina
last night, reuben, my mate chris and i went for a fish at the marina north wall.
chris's mate sean turns up n pursuades chris into trying to balloon. this turned out to be a very bad lesson.
as the balloon is deployed we hear stories of waiting for hours trying to get the balloon out, but yesterday wasn''t one of those days. About 60 metres out line was out and sitting there nicely.
next thing a zodiac type boat comes racing past. I shout to chris watch your balloon and sure enough zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz the line is peeling out 100 k's an hour. As chris grabs his rod it flys into the water, after an exchange of swear words we start trying to attract the intention of the baots skipper. after 3 laps he realise it was our balloon so he picks it up and brings it in.
after a short go at the amn he happily drives of without a word.
About an hour later, reuebn is realing in his rod saying oi i got something. He pulls in backing line, and sure enough after about 50 metres up comes this TLD 25. but it gets snagged on the rocks. Chris shouts out get it so i jumped in cutting my foot on an oyster.
All in all what turned out to be an expensive learning curve turned out to be a great day fishing.

May i suggest too tellya mate to wash his gear , and i mean either break it down ya self or give it too someone ( tackle shop),
wouldn't want too waste a fish of a life time because ya reel went in the drink
it will seize up mate
Callum there are some great places along the coast to send out a balloon in the metro, go where others aren't, get on google earth is a good start, and see where .
