So..who's going chasing Ab's tomorrow? I'll be in the water at 7am - looking forward to it. By the way does anyone have any good recipe's for them? I think it was Alfred who had a couple of great ones that looked nice last year..want to try some fritters this year.
I'll put up a full report with a few pics when I get back for those who are interested. Should be a nice lunch I rekon.

were out in force as usual - undersize, over limit or no license - the $200 fine is a joke, push the buggers off the reef.

Nice snorkelling conditions yesterday for the offshore islands. Got 5 about 110mm with rest ranging from 80-10mm. Kept 10 alive till dinner time. Shuck, smack, flour, egg/milk/crumbs, shallow fry. Hmm, very nice. Drowned the other ten and into the freezer - will be interesting to compare.
Cheers Pete

I shuck mine, slice into
I shuck mine, slice into thin strips (I cut down, not across), then dust in lightly seasoned flour. Heat some oil and chuck a few bits in. They only need 30 odd seconds if sliced thin, then drain on paper towel and eat. I've converted many abalone haters with this entree.

So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

Is there a limit to the areas you can dive for them or anywhere goes? Another way to scoff them is in cream and bake slowly if you can handle waiting that long.
