Abrolhos report finally PICS ADDED
A few weeks back we made a push and did our first Abrolhos trip. Headed up friday night and headed to the islands Saturday morning arriving in time for breakfast. Conditions were not bad the first morning with 15knot east winds. we headed out and soon found some ground to fish, baldies, snapper, dhuies and coral trout.
Things shut down after a good fishing sesh so we headed back to our anchorage and had some lunch. Jesse and I swam ashore and went for a wander around the point. We went for a swim and noticed some big baldies on a small coral bombie, so back and got Kev and the spear guns and went to get a few fish.
Didnt take long to get 4 good baldies around 4kg. Well the daylight was fading so we set up for a nice fish dinner and some chit chat before setting the beds for a good nights sleep. We woke to nice conditions, wind light from the east, headed out and set the lures. Didn't take long and a nice mac was in the box. We anchored up and geared up for a dive on an edge 12-45m on entering the water a large mac around 20kg swam through. Jesse was too slow and missed his chance.
No good fish on this dive so a move to the area we fished the day before. We dived a lump 32m. Lot more good size fish, got some more baldies and a nice trout. Back on the boat and a few more hours fishing and it was time to head back to Gero. We had a good trip back sitting on 27knots all the way. Was a big weekend with us getting home around 10:30 Sunday night. Quick clean up and to bed for work the next day. We will be heading back for another trip very so

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
