Advice on a plate centre console
Submitted by whaler235 on Fri, 2016-01-15 15:05
hey guys
just wanting some advice on a new plate centre console around the 5.6m long mark. I have been looking at getting one over from Qld, AMM do a 5.2 sea class that overall is 5.6m and looks very strong and grunty also has 20 degree dead rise and comes with a 140 Suzuki, now has anyone heard much about Formosa as they are a bit cheaper but not sure of the quality. I have attached the links of both rigs for you guys to look at. I'm not looking at painting it, I just want it very basic and just an all round work horse

ye that's way I'm leaning towards, bigger dead rise, larger Chines, only a few grand more expensive.

Curious How Much?
Concidering the added cost of getting it over here etc I'm curious how much comparred to buying a tub over here, or even custom build via Epic, then adding a donk?

Amm is a far superior build
Amm is a far superior build than the formosa.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

"Amm was 16.5k"
Be interesting to see what Epic would charge in comparison to Amm? (& redline)
I dropped in and quiried some prices with Todd (epic) the other day (comparring buying 2nd hand vs him building me a Custom) and was pretty impressed, but unlike yourself I havn't done any homework re getting from east.

Interstate
I also posted another topic on interstate transport and the prices range from 1600$ - 3500$ or u could drive one back for a few grand depending on the size of the boat

Would be Preston Marine or
Would be Preston Marine or Stagg if I had the choice.
Mate has a Preston on order , only downside is they have a long lead time if you are in a hurry.

I'd steer well clear of stagg. Way too many horror stories.

Formosa do two ranges, the
Formosa do two ranges, the cheeper ones are a plywood floor not in the same leauge as as sealed self draining ally deck. Theres plenty of quality WA built options out there with better reputations.
