AFL preliminary finals
Submitted by randall df223 on Sun, 2015-09-20 17:24
Ok. First up. Which freo supporter, or at least non hawthorn supporter (willing to support freo on the night) wants to come to the game on friday night with me.
I will be be buying two tickets tomorrow morning but my wife has injured her knee and wont be going.
Cost will be whatever the ticket costs me and I'm notsure what that will be until they're purchased. (The qualifying finals were $80 a ticket).
Its a 6.20 game and ill be going straight from work in the city.

yeh gadsy the eagles have kinda snuck along under the radar until we won the derby , up till then the frockers where in the spotlight , even then many didn't see them getting out the whip and winding up for the home stretch run like they have
even tonight that was their worst 1st quarter ever at domain and they still got up and won !!!
dream run in the finals so far , I reckon there good enough to take the hawks next week , hawks have had to work hard to get there , double travel , back to back hard games ,
eagles will go well I reckon in the hunt on GF day !!!!

dunno about you blokes but I remember the hawks taking us apart back in 91 , not a good game at all
id much rather next satdy be like the GF of 2005/06 , real nail biters but happy with the result either way after a hard fought tight contest

Don't think it will be low scoring like those two...hopefully plenty of goals allround and a ripping contest.
With the Hawks saluting of course

it seems that the Eagles fans at the game
were much better behaved than the hooligans at last night's game too
Hats off to Simo for a stellar year as coach. He's come a long way in a short time and has got the boys playing great team footy. Deserves a win next week!

Your really shouldn't compare us with yourself there Gadsy, how long you spend with your wife, or girlfriend or boyfriend, we really don't want to know about that.

Yep, well done to him
Pretty impressed the way he stayed out on the ground with a fractured leg on Friday night. Like Gilly said earlier, they must have given him some good pain killers!
Some consolation for the Frockers to add to the minor premiership I guess.

Congrads Nat Fyfe
Champion young footballer and next years worthy captain of FFC. To do so well the other night with a dicked leg was remarkable.
Great effort by Mat Priddis being runner up.

Go you good thing
I was pretty sure he had it a couple of games out, Priddis was 4 points adrift and didn't have a good game against the Crows, $250 on Nat at 2 to 1 wasn't too bad either.

Firstly congrats to Natalie
Firstly congrats to Natalie for the Charlie.
But if I was a Freo supporter I would be pretty pissed off knowing that the coaching staff put Fyfe in to play an important game like that with a fracture in his leg.
In his own words, "in hindsight it probably wasn't a good idea for me to play when they could have put someone in the team that was fully fit".
It may have made a difference having someone in there that could chase down a Hawks player or get away from one. IMO...
So now we look forward to what hopefully will be a good GF on Saturday between the two best teams in the comp for 2015..
Cheers & Stay safe

i thought he "fractured" his leg in that clash with brian lake and now the media have blown it up saying he went into the game with a "brocken" leg.
any idea what the truth is?

I'm guessing if it was
I'm guessing if it was "broken" he would have been in plaster.
From all accounts it was just a slight fracture, they gave it time to settle hoping it could carry him through.
Not sure if it got bigger, but it definitely slowed him down. Even in training he was not at full pace which should have been enough for the selectors to leave him out given such an important game.
I think they were hoping he could get them over the line for the GF but IMO it worked the other way.
I would also have left out the Pav & replaced him with a faster younger fitter guy. I guess sentiment plays a big role in selections, perhaps above the main priority. IMO...
Cheers & Stay safe

Fractured fibulas are far
Fractured fibulas are far more managable than tibulas, atheletes can play on them with no immediated effects and can he managed. Either way a super human effort to keep going

The worst free kick ever
The worst free kick ever awarded in the modern era, as a non cocker fan.... that was a pharking disgrace & then the salt to the wound of the support from the umpire in the stand.

Hope the Hawks like it warm
Willyweather forecasting 28 degrees for Melbourne match day, and the forecast temp just keeps increasing over recent days. And congratulations to Fyfe, well deserved. I see the Eagles had the highest team aggregate in the voting this year, showing depth as a team.
