its not too bad , spent many years visiting down there
there are a couple of types of weather down there its wet or its windy
jk you do get some verry nice days down there even warm enough to go swimming
as far as the place goes (been a few years )it is a nice town to live in but it has grown , as far as costs go i dont think it would much diff from perth

Albany
I have lived there previous (in my less dicseplined days LOL) Fish Fingers is right. The older I get though the better I like the thought of living there. It's a magic place albeit it's cold at times.
The fishing there is fantastic. 60 mins either way ends you up in some magestic esturies and some awesome coastline.

Hi Davey
Other than the info we've swapped with the PMs:
1) Petrol is more expensive - around $1.23 per litre at the moment - but fluctuating quite a bit.
2) Less jobs, but then less people looking for jobs.
3) Crime isn't as bad in Perth, but it does exist. Mainly breaking and entering as far as violations on other people.
4) Like any collection of suburbs, there's good and bad ones, and bad areas/streets. If it firms up, I'll ask around at work and see if I can source advice in that area.
5) There's a number of 'Emplyment Houses', they might be good for trades etc, but I found them useless.
6) If you know how to use roundabouts, you'll be in the extreme minority - Albany drivers, despite having lots of roundabouts for years, are useless with them LOL.
7) There's NO traffic lights - YAY and very few traffic snarls. The closest you'll get to that is lunch times down York (the main) street. Especially when cruise ships are in offloading suicidal tourists. LOL.
8) Most of the social troubles happen around the night clubs (nothing unusual there ay).
9) Through my job, I know most of the coppers and they are a pretty good bunch. (At least I find so).
Hope that helps. Sorry for the day in responding - been pretty busy this week - worked 08:00am - Midnight Friday and up at 05:30 to 16:30 yesterday. Week's been a bit of a cluster LOL.

Keep It Davey!
Ah yes, now I've refreshed my ancient memory LOL!
If you can afford to Davey, my advice is keep it mate. That would be perfect for doing the rivers, inlets and estuaries down here mate. Lots of water down here to expore with that.
You supply the boat, and I'll supply the info !

Likewise Davey....and
Make sure you pack your bream gear mate - there's a GREAT inlet east of town that's waiting for us, and PLENTY of rivers!
And you never know, there's always the chance of a decent mulla or two!
Certainly looking forward to catching up mate!
