Albany trip

Took the opportunity a few weeks back to head down to Albany to catch up with family and head out fishing. First few days of the trip were a bit windy which forced us to chase KGW's in the sound. No monsters but managed to bag a feed and a few sandies as well. Thursday was the day. wind and swell were perfect so we headed out wide. went straight out past bald head aprox 40km's out to 70-80m. fished 3 spots and came home with a few good fish. Queen snapper, bight red fish, black arse, and a few others. great day out.

Nice catch
That black ass is a cracker. Nice mixed bag there.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !

Shark
Not nit picking but if you had cleaned the shark as soon as it came out of the water the pups would possibly have survived and you wouldn't have the ammonia taste in the meat. The brown strip along the spine behind the gizzards has to be removed asap as this is where the ammonia comes from
Good variety of fish caught, well done

fillet
I think you can fillet if the fillet is bigger than the legal limit. The no filleting is so people dont try to take under size but why would anyone bother. Is there a size limit on gummys??
just do it.
