All nighter tuesday night

All three of us set off in that  stormie weather for an all nighter, Arrived about 3pm and set up camp in time And then the sky opened up on us big time

Rolled the swags out and set the rods up ready for a long night fishing

Bits of weed now and again But no big deal,

Picked up some tailor and a few big rays and had some great runs,  We got about 2 hours sleep and woke to a wind change

Wind moved around to the south/east by 2am So i sent out a bait under gas, and it got smashed in less than 30mins

So i put another bait on and sent it on its way west skipping across the water, Not long after the reel set the hooks And after a 350m of reeling in,  A nice size bronzy whaler came up on the beach

The wind changed again and it was getting light SO it was tailor time again

Last week we hooked a big shark of about 7foot long about 350m out at sea,  We got it to 20m of the beach and its tail snapped the line on us

Not sure how we would of unhooked it

Cheers steve

Nice one Sherbs - sounds like you guys had fun, - agree with RAGBAG on the "graphite and lighting does not mix" - issue; but then; you guys caught some nie fish. Been a while now for me, see you next week for me babies and then we will stretch some big livies!!!!

(Jip - second the motion to send that bronzie out as a livie - you never know what might.....??)

You'd need some serious kit

Thu, 2011-12-08 10:17

You'd need some serious kit there to land anything that would take that bronzie as a livie!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Look out big sharks

Fri, 2011-12-09 14:00

Geting the gas ready for the morning fish, To send a big bait out 300 plus meters on the east south east winds,

Watch the swimmers clear the water if i hook up big time

Good luck Sherbs.

Mate, try it at Cottesloe or Sorrento. Really cause some fuss with the early morning swim brigade. Hilarious.

What ballons do you use, any special 1s or are normal fine? and just normal helium from a small canister? fully blown up or partial, never attempted ballooning could be fun....

Big bad ass ballooning

Fri, 2011-12-09 18:03

$10.00 for two or buy them in bulk, You have to fill them so the bait skips on the water

If the bait fly hight out of the water add lead the the top of the bait Or let gas out

So its down to what bait you used, and how much weight is in the bait x amount of gas

You need a big LBR with a overhead reel And i got 700m of line on mine//// top shot 100m x 80lbs mono- 500m x60lbs braid  - backing 100m x 80lbs mono

And then hang on,

sherbie

Hooks one treble at the end 3x10.0 hooks on 49 strand wire About 2m to 3 m.\, Then single strand wire at the end
