I'd do it, but my job

Fri, 2015-08-21 21:33

I'd do it, but my job doesn't let me, I don't have a roster, I just get called up when needed, which seems to be all the time, but shouldn't complain about that. But I've flicked them an email to see where I can help.

Its not just Cockburn in need of volunteers, try nearly ALL sea rescue groups.
Here in Carnarvon we have about 15 active members who do radio watches and crew the rescue boats but with most of them working it leaves us with 4-6 available during the week days to cover small jobs, if something major comes up then the others are called on to assist meaning they lose wages creating a problem for their employers [though being in a small town most employers know this and are happy for this to occur]. If it wasn't for Len and Dave with their home bases , we wouldn't have any coverage at all during the week.
