Trucking boats

just looking for some info on how much it will cost to chuck a 5.5m boat on a truck in Broome to Perth? Anyone have any experience with this?

I did it a few years back

I did it a few years back with a trailcraft 5.8
If you have time up your sleeve you'll find a trucky who wants a backload.

I got quotes from $1K (then he pulled out after I bought) to $9K
Ended up with (I think) Oil Field Transport or something like that $1000 cash.
Start ringing and keep ringing as there are many truckies who come back empty if its not vege season but you need to make it easy for them-have someone drop it off and help load and be there to collect, all when it suits THEM.
If you make it difficult (cant pay cash, got flat tyres, its parked in the back paddock... or it sounds dodgy-"collect it from this vacant house") then you'll pay top dollar

 Give CTI or Bishops

Give CTI or Bishops Transport a call. They run into Broome 3 times a week and always have a flattop or drop deck.

Unfortunately no such thing as a backload these days as there is more heading south than north with the slow down up there.

Give JKL Logistics a ring and speak with Liza or Aaron. I think they run up to broome a couple of times a week. A truck up costs around 6k, back is around half that. Trusting you dont have a deadline to meet, i am sure one of the smaller transport mobs could throw it on an empty trailer for a decent rate.

I think there's a sight

I think there's a sight called backloads or sum thing my mate used. You can put up what you have and where you want it from and to and the truck drivers will give you a call

Talk to the many transport

Talk to the many transport companies here should be a reasonably cost as its a backload for most companies that would be going down empty
