Cold water species found in the northern hemisphere. They grow pretty big as you can see.

From what I've read bout photo on another forumFoot in mouth:

It's a sturgeon apparently caught near Michigan USA, although email doing rounds about it being caught in the SwanLaughing

Approx details: 786lb and was just over 11foot long

Yes, know the same story Carassius. I'd need a LOT of convincing about Sturgeons in the swan - as Andy mentioned, they are a NH cold water species. I saw them in a Marine Center in Europe quite some years back - they are HUGE for sure!

Big fish - The largest sturgeon of all was a beluga from the Volga estuary which weighed out at 3249 pounds and was 24ft long....4 times the size of the one in the pic above........OMG
