Getting sixpence pocket money and buying 144 blackjacks (24 per penny) yes I remember.

Getting a haircut for thrupence. Yes I remember.

Fish and chips, extra large for under a shilling. Yes I remember.

Filling up my Ford Anglia ( don't.laugh) from empty to full for under one pound. Yes I remember.

My first pint of beer a the local pub, 11 pence. Maggot faced for 50 pence. Yes I remember.

Shit, I'm old. But I still remember.

Used to be a scout and do bob a job, caught stag beetles, water boatmen ...an insect, earwigs and other crawly critters and was PAID for them by a museum. The old 78 records when placed in boiling water could be shaped into really great flower pots and even had the drainage hole built in. French onion sellers on bikes, knife sharpening man with his gear mounted on his handlebars. Running boards on cars and our gas metre took pennies and six pence pieces. Oh and when you turned the tiny crt tv off we as kids would watch the white dot slowly fading out .......SHIT i am old

Gordon must be getting old . Forgot he already hit send.

When you get old you don't lose your mind, you just get more frequent brain farts.

Definitely remember many of those things. One thing I do remember is we had a remote control for the old TV. Mum or dad would say change the chanel and one of us kids would jump up and move the dial to abc , 7 or 9

re the eggs

Sat, 2026-08-29 13:05

considering the eggs for consumption are boiled, I'm guessing the fried eggs are still in the pan,

so 2 raw eggs untouched, 2 boiled ones eaten, 2 fried ones ready to be consumed...

4 eggs left assuming the fried ones are still ok fir eating (or whatever else you can do to/with fried eggs)
