Gday All
Anyone know how what range of amps a new suzuki 140hp alternator puts out? Assume the idiling amont is alot differnt then steaming. Dont want to over load with electrics on the boat.
Cheers

Apparently suzuki dont put the amps vs revs on the specs like Yamaha do.
But what are you running that could possibly be a problem?
If your worried a bigger battery would help!
Fyi my yammy produces max current at 3000rpm!

Hey Vinesh, looking at buying a light bar but some draw up go 18 amps... also running a furuno sounder, 12in hds with structure scan, deck lights, trim tabs, stereo, vhf, 27meg, pie warmer, 12v socket, phone charger, maybe a pot winch in the near future. I got dual batterys but dont want to get caught out at nigh running the lights and stereo.

you wouldnt run all these at
you wouldnt run all these at once but, all of this is short sharp power use really. constant use would be radios, sounders/gps maybe deck lights (i only use mine when on a fish or re baiting) at night. everything else like, winch, trim tabs would be short sharp bursts of power use

Yeh i run all that and 3
Yeh i run all that and 3 fridges hahaha but then again I have 300a of house batteries and 200w solar.
Except the pie warmer that interesting! But you dont use that for long periods.
18a = 200w thats a very big light bar. Pay a bit more and get a decent one.
Will depends on your battery switching too.
Found it it produced 30a at 2000 revs
