Fuel Storage
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Sat, 2016-05-14 06:36
Looks like I'm gonna be layed up for a few months with my knee surgery so will have 90L sitting there in my full tank. Would syphoning out 30L into the Wife's car and filling her back up with petrol every 2-3 months be the way to keep the fuel ok?

Empty it
If I knew I was going to be out of action that long I'd just empty the tank altogether (as far as possible). I don't see the point in trying to keep the fuel fresh for an extended period.

wouldnt worry about it
wouldnt worry about it unless you've got ethanol in it, then Id dump full stop.
Put Stabil in it now if concerned

Cheers mate. It's just
Cheers mate. It's just unleaded 91 from Caltex. I bought stabil but ran out of time to put in the correct dosage and take her for a drive to slosh it around.
I usually only use 10-20l once a fortnight at best so was thinking to just replicate that usage and run the engine at the same time.
