Another all nighter at hillarys

with it being the holidays liam and I decided we would go for another all nighter at hilarys to try our luck.

started off flicking a few mulies etc at around 8 with nothing to show for it

bit later we soaked the big baits and had a couple nice hits and runs but no hook ups.

once again just before 3 o clock the trusty snook came on the bite

those buggers love the metals and we got a good 4 hours fun out of those snook

we did a bit of squidding but the jogs wernt tasty to those squid but we lured them out from under

we could literally see them cruising near the rocks and on the other side of the rocks some blokes were gettin a couple

so we were pretty bummed about not getting afew...

then whilst chucking the chromies i casted and turned around to talk to liam, allowing the metal to sink....picked up the slack and noticed a lot of extra weight

reeled it in to the rocks and bam there was a small squid

was pretty funny to be desperately trying with jigs then get one without trying on a piece of metal

wasnt the best night but was glad to get out on the water and was a bonus to land a few.

weather was fantastic all night!

bit late but happy new years everyone haha

cheers,

Reuben

Still sounds like a bit of fun getting the snook. For the squid, have you tried really small jigs like 2.0s? (maybe even smaller). Or even use a bit of scent on the jig?

How big were the snook?

kinda a spur of the moment decision. we made the decision at 12 oclock that day. i was bout to go out for the arvo aswell. the only bad thing is that public holiday= only servos open no six pack of cokes and what not for me..... had to be content with solo.....

sweet, cheers

sweet, cheers adam.

yeah dean everytime i snorkel there i cant see crap but sweeps, buffys and blowies but it seems to come alive abit at night with the baitfish jumping everywhere when the snook come on, some sharks and tons of rays cruising around and u see squid hanging round next to the rocks.

its a different and better, more relaxing place at night with there being less people.

but both times there has been people still fishing the whole time weve been there.

definitely gonna keep trying cos i know theres gotta be a big mulla or shark or something cruising around that will take my bait sometime.

all about the persistance, patience and hoursWink
