Poor effort for us yesterday. Burley'd the hell outta the drop off 13-18m yesterday for bout 3 hours, avo till sunset. 3 major bustoffs (suspected sambos) but other than that nothin responded from the burley not even any skippy which was most unusual. Just got the usual wrasse and sargeant baker.
Yeah same here berleyed for 3 hrs just south of hillarys had my 6in nuclear chicken sp out in the trail had a couple of runs but nothin landed .going futher out next time bugger it
burlyied up heaps and tried some soft plastics for the first time, i was by myself as my mate didnt turn up but got no action. i was in 13m launched from ocean reef, after a few hours and a hangover seemingly getting worse i returned home. good conditions and i wonder if it was me using the plastics or whether bait would have been ok. next weekend i will head deeper. usually i can see fish around the boat skippy etc
Was just south of the south marker off Hillaries on Sunday as well drifted around anchored and burleyed got a skippy while drifting and a 1.2m Gummy shark while anchored in about 17m but overall not much about not that I catch much anyways.
fished saturday quota of snapper in 10 min had a cracka caught and released round 15-20 others in the 42 -60cm range the 2 kept were the first 2 and the biggest at 67 and 70cm. also bagged out on squid in the first 2 drifts heaps of skippy also will pout report up
had boat for nearly 1 year now, total catch so far is , 7 skippy, 1 gummy shark, 12 sand whiting numerous wrass and a single squid (caught the squid in 47m of water followed up a whiting used as live bait quickly flung on a jig and had him caught) and one DNF due to motor packing it in 100 metres after leaving from Hillaries.
Getting me to think I should have just spent my money on charters rather than buy the dam boat :)
heading out wed night your welcome to tag along if you have all the lights ect
went out last week at night caught 40 skippy 1 to 1.5 kg kept 15 caught just legal snapper but released him was great to leave them biting for a change

Pot luck then! Although if I catch anything it's just a bonus!!
