With only 2 weeks to go before we head off to Coral Bay would be interested as to the shark numbers. I know they will be out there unfortunately

not far south
They are BAD BAD BAD, add that to no shortage of flies and pretty warm temps and it's actually a pretty testing season!!

Sharks
Spent the last 3 weeks there, sharks definitely worse south around 50-70m, not as bad north for us. Can vouch for the flies, terrible with the easterly blowing.

Cheers guys. We had the flies
Cheers guys. We had the flies real thick in hedland. They thinned right out only a week ago. Hopefully they will be gone by the time we get there.
Hopefully where we fish a bit deeper are ok

Just back from a week there.
Just back from a week there. Fishing 50-130 meters. 5 guys across 2 boats. Loads of small sharks caught - several a day each and lots of biteoffs. A couple of tussles with medium sized sharks, and saw few monsters around the boats but they didn't seem to bother us. Only 1 fish bitten in half between us.
We don't dispose of bait in the water we fish, we don't leave engines running and we leave when we start to see the telltale signs of sharks on the sounder.
Overall, a little worse than last year, but not too much of an issue.
