Pies to slide, Eagles can't
Pies to slide,
Eagles can't slide,
Bris - GWS GF,
Hawks to turn the competition upside down and blow teams away,
Freo will finish higher than WC - perhaps
Geelong bottom 6,
Clayton Oliver to get busted for Meth,
Daicos to cry when runner up to Newcombe in BL medal,
I no longer gamble but If I were you, put your house on it....

You could be right on the GF
You could be right on the GF Boon. GWS a kick away from playing this year and Brissie lost by a kick. Both have some unfinished business.
Hope you're wrong on Geelong and I also think Hawks will be big movers this year.
Despite all the hype I don't expect the Eagles to do more than (hopefully) climb a couple of spots.

A couple of my predictions
A couple of my predictions for 2024:
Grundy will return to form and help push the Swans deep into September
Fremantle will make the 8 and be around the top 4.
West Coast will finish bottom 4... again.
The Bont will score himself a Brownlow.
Will be another tightly contested finals campaign and to pick one out I'll just say Brisbane.
Andrew Gaff to (finally) get dropped to the WAFL

Nothing crazy there Frosty,
Nothing crazy there Frosty, except Freo to finish top 4. I said top 6 last year but got the wrong end of the ladder! I think Gaff will continue to get a game despite his best being well behind him.

Melbourne and St Kilda to
Melbourne and St Kilda to fall out of the 8. No idea who will replace them, but i'll have a stab and say Adelaide and Gold Coast.
West Coast, North, Richmond and Freo to make up the bottom 4.
Collingwood and Carlton to be the only Vic teams in the finals.
Justin Longmuir to not get a contract extenison and Freo to be looking for another new coach at years end.

All NSW GF?
GWS might be a shot, their second half of the season last year was pretty good. Thw Swans were also pretty close and have recruited to fill the small gaps in their list better than most I think. Grundy will have a big point to prove and could tear it up! Also they need to get close to keep Errol interested, there's gonna be some cash thrown at him from all directions this year. West Coast need another low finish to continue to build out a decent group of young high end talent to bring threm through the next 5-7 years.

I'm not sold on the Swans Grundy or Errol...
I think the Swans lack depth and could slide also....
Frosty the Bont will win a Brownlow if he stays fit and teams go back to the tag, if they go back to the tag then Bont can win it. Otherwise scribe N Daicos on it now.

The Bont must be the biggest hard luck story for some time Boon. I think he deserves to win one but then again, plenty of absolute champions before him have missed out.

Carlton vs LIONS GF
Lions have home ground route to GF if can finish top 2 and Carlton very talented just immature last year with a bunch of champions

Theres no way in hell Freo are making top 4. They'll be lucky to make the 8 after losing Schulz.....didnt make it last year with him. Amiss will be a star though.
Eagles to knock a couple of teams off if they can stay fit, still bottom 4 though.

I'm not doubting WC can have a good day and another team may have a day off but I just can't see who WC will beat this year?
Even Nth and Hawks who were well down the ladder have a heap of young talent, Not just a couple coming through but time will tell...
Always a couple of sliders and Inuries to important players can affect some teams more than others...
I have my doubts about Freo, very young and still trying to find themselves IMO

That's Gaff officially cooked but we had a few others out there that just aren't AFL standard in Edwards, Witherden, Jamieson.
Reid's debut was the best I've seen for an Eagle quite some time. 16 touches (9 contested) with 5 clearances at 88% DE.

Geez, we are 3 rounds in and there are 7 teams in the Owen club and there may well be 6 remaining next week!
Was at the game yesterday and we held our own for a bit but then the floodgates opened. Basic skill errors and an inability to transition from the wing to half forward is killing us on top of playing guys that aren't and never will be AFL standard.

Shits me to tears when
Shits me to tears when someone take a mark in the back half then immediately looks further back without properly weighing up the options forward. Every time they do it they fuck it up and turn the ball over. Handling skills are diabolical at the moment and that includes senior players that should be setting the example. Will give Simmo about 3 more weeks of 50 plus point losses then the fat lady will start singing.
Well done to the Dockers for the attitude at the moment.

Very disheartened by what I saw today. Guys like Hough and Chesser should be making that next step and don't seem up to it.
Ginbey gets a pass as a 2nd year player but is looking like he's gone backwards from last year and looks lost at stoppages.
Poor ol' JD looks like father time has passed him by. I don't know if he's carrying an injury but looks too slow and not agile enough to be an undersized key forward.
