North Mole will be closed I
North Mole will be closed I think. Went down there tonight and the port authority turned up and said they were shutting it at 7. I left before they came back so I don't know what happened in the end but its on their website that it will be shut for the next 48 hours.

Bugger that, cold, wet windy
Bugger that, cold, wet windy shitfull fishing. If I was desperate enough tho, only cos its my usual and closest ramp and I have got pinks in the tub not far off from there after blow ups, Id posy myself on the south wall at Hillarys, right where boyinaboat reef is and do the same as I would do in the boat pre sunrise. Burley up hard, cubed mulies, hurl out stabbed cans of catfood, bombs of oily bread and pellets, fish heads, tuna logs, fuggen everything! Maybe have a weighted bait out but work a placcy (nuke chic or pink shine jerk shad) and keep the burley goin, I reckon theyd be in around that reef for sure. Id continue fishin till the high tide that will occur after sunup. But I wont, because its only fun if its comfortable, good luck!

"hurl out stabbed cans of
"hurl out stabbed cans of catfood"
Sorry but its those sorts of actions that really is totally irresponsible even from a fisher like yourself.
Not only is it littering (illegal) but there is the chance of a rusted can being partially buried in the sand for some unsuspected person to cut themselves on.

I think you'll find that he does like I used to do with tins of sardines is tie the tins to heavy line.so to keep the burley close. I'm sure he's well aware of 'littering' Tim-o?

Trying to start shit again,
Trying to start shit again, what a surprise. This will probably surprise you but 99% of the time it's dead easy to get it all back & the other time it just takes a bit of effort from the right direction to free it all up. I've been throwing cans of cat food & my berley pot off the rocks for more years than I can remember, havn't lost one yet. You hardly ever even write about fishing, let alone actually get out & do it so I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise that you have no idea what your talking about. Like I've said to you before, if your not going to offer something constructive, keep your opinions to yourself. You can respond any way you like, I won't be feeding the troll again.

Haha Yogi, u doosh, I used to
Haha Yogi, u doosh, I used to empty cans of cat food into a burley pot but it broke down too quick, so I ended up takin the labels off and stabbed the cans with a knife and slip some crab pot rope through two holes near the rim and throw a few out on one rope as far as I could to aviod snagging when retrieving, do it on the boat sometimes to burley up on the bottom, keep a few cans on the boat, good back up buley and its contained in the can

Haha cheers tim-o, I have never really tried for them before so I'll set the rods up then lay in my swag in the warm canopy on the back of the ute and wait for a rod to load up. I have heaps of berley and whiting for bait... Hope they like whiting.

LOL, thats how I used to do
LOL, thats how I used to do it at the north mole, harbour side, had the cruiser facin the water, had my rods in the bull bar, glow sticks on the tips and sat in the cab suckn some white cans and a few doobies hehe, I hated bait checks tho, never caught anything either. Id prob go to the sheds in the hope of live bait, would be more confident leavin a livey out for more than 15 min. Iv put a lot less effort and much more success since I got my tinny, prized catches landbased are certainly that, a prize for sure

Brave enough, yep.. I ended
Brave enough, yep.. I ended up down at Hillaries tonight though so not sure if I'll get permission from the other half to go again tommorow. I gave up around 10 as it was pretty calm on the south wall & I was feeling particularly old. Couple of enquires but don't think they were from anything interesting. Only ended up with one PJ around the 1.2m mark.

More stirred up than it was
More stirred up than it was down at Hillaries tonight. Depends where you are fishing, the swell hits each spot differently so each has it's own trigger conditions.

Yep they've just closed it.
Yep they've just closed it. I fished it from 5am till 1pm. Weather wasn't too horrible early morning but by about 10am it wasn't pretty. By the time I left I was drenched in salt water and all for nothing. Didn't see even one decent run. Think I'll be staying dry until the weather calms down and I can get out on the tub.

I've spent a fair bit of
I've spent a fair bit of time down there over the last week or so and the smaller front that came through last week fired the pinkies up. There were heaps caught on Wednesday and Thursday, with a few still hanging around on Friday. However, during this bigger storm I haven't caught or witnessed anything being caught other than a small bonito and a small shovelnose. Been really surprised not to see any pinkies.
Bit disappointing that its closed, will probably open again for the weekend but good luck at getting a spot. Every man and his dog will be there.

Mate i think the moon phases
Mate i think the moon phases are the secret. I have caught plenty of pinkies but only on good moon phases! Didnt matter what bait or where. I got them on tailor fillet, snook, scalies and mulies. I am interseted to see if anyone got any last night as it was a bad moon phase till fri.

I didn't get any last night
I didn't get any last night but I've caught them at all sorts of moon phases, including halfway through the cycle. It's near enough the new moon that it makes no difference, the same amount of water is moving around. Doesn't hurt to work on a theory though, you never know, you might find a pattern that you can let the rest of us in on....

In my experence.
In my experence you hardly ever get snapper when its blowing NW they seem to turn on as soon as it swings W or even better if it goes SW or full swing to E just after the storms..
The last smaller front that came threw last week where fish were caught was blowing SW.
Just my in experence but ive been fishing storms for snapper for the last 10years and never seen a pinky caught in a NWerly.... Thats not to say that its never happened..
Tomorrow and Saturday will be the days..

Haha, cheers Chris, hard yards for a big fat zero at that. Pending blessing from the minister of war & finances I'll be at mindarie tonight putting in another few hours to. Shouldn't of released the tailor I got this morning, didnt think I'd be going & I'm down to iqf mulies for bait. I'll have to take a light outfit so I can get a few herring or whiting to use as well.

Warnbro sound, it was actually 8 not 5, a bloke in a tinny went solo, just offshore less than 100m, he kept 1 (first) and released the next 7, all over 80cm. I spoke to him at BCF today (he works there), all fish caught on yellow tail. Craaaazeeee!

Hahahah, does make them legends hay, Fisherman1992 and the storm snappa tale, Noddy and the adventures of the Black Pearl, the spango hole at Cervantes.....always funny how the spinners suck us all in and create a stir. The real legends that present genuine epic captures on here get forgotten, but the trolls live on haha that pic rules Chris
