Kiwi grip

I've used it on my old yacht for the decks and have since put it on the deck of my cat. Water based and easy to apply. Cheap too at $140 for four litres you can get it at Whitworths. It can be tinted at any paint place to get the colour you want, avoid darker colours as the deck can get really hot underfoot.

Phoenix Paints make a paint

Phoenix Paints make a paint with chunks of rubber in it. It will take skin off when you first apply it though it is extremely grippy.

When comparing the painted surface vz carpet, the mineute amount of vibration insulation the carpet makes reduces a bit of fatigue at the end of the day.

It is expensive stuff (relatively) though we used it on the deck of a 60ft ocean racing yacht for years and years. Lost a few pairs of shorts to it but never slid off the deck.

I know that people mix sugar (or was it salt?) with normal exterior paint. As it wears away the crystals wash away and leave an indent. Alternative is a very clean gritty sand which would leave you with a surface similar to a concrete jetty.

Plenty of options

How does the Esky go on the deck with the boat driving along without carpet?
does it move around much or grips fairly well on the painted floor?

Ijust laid carpet over the non skid paint so it was easy to remove to wash but the floor around the walkaround cab was just paint and was good to walk on. Rubber feet on the esky would stop it moving.

i looked into it with the old boat.

i found this video but he's glassing over ply, but i thought it may be of use with the flow coating. i'm unsure if flowcoating bonds well with ally.

I know it's not what the OP asked but has anyone had experience with the EVA stuff like Deck Armour? Thinking about using it on my Searay instead of replacing the shit marine carpet the previous owner put down (badly).
