Auto Electrician Required In Armadale
Submitted by sideshow on Fri, 2014-02-07 10:24
Hi guys
I need an auto spraky to come around and help get my GQ Patrol running.
Its a 4.2 diesel and will only start if I hot wire the fuel cut off solenoid.
I have traced checked and repaced everything I can find in the circut but still no joy.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
Brendon

Aftermarket immobiliser or ign switch fault at a guess

Have tried the Ign switch
Have tried the Ign switch with a second hand but still need to hot wire. Could be the Immobiliser but it controls the whole ign and wont crank over if not pressed, this is where I am confused my thoughts were maybe a broken wire /connection but dont have the tools or know how to pin point it

Immob will disable 2
Immob will disable 2 circuits, likely str and ign, one of the circuits may not be complete, being the ign. If u turn the ign key to on without pressing the immob, then press the immob, do the dash lights come on ie batt light? I cant remember if the fuel cut shares the same circuit as the dash lights tho

Must be an open circuit
Must be an open circuit between there and the solenoid. Blown fuse or bad connection/broken wire. What happened or has been done leading up to this? Did it cut out on you, not start one day? Dunno if voltdrop could be a factor with the solenoid (will have power at the soleoid but not enough to operate it)

I went to start it one arvo and it just wouldnt start it still cranks just no fire.
Have checked the fuses replaced the fusible link, glow plug relay, glow plug control unit, ign switch and followed the Gregories hand book
and no joy. As mentioned I think a bad connection Broken wire that hopefully is simple to bridge Im just unsure where to start and my wiring work always looks messy
Cheers for your help Tim-o
