Awesome Weather and some Puka
Submitted by Spence on Mon, 2018-08-27 07:03
Its great to finally have some decent weather...so I took advantage saturday and headed out to 300m. First couple of drifts managed a bag of Hapuka between 7-10kg, looked around a bit after and headed in on flat seas for lunch.
Ramps are horrendous at the moment, had to pull a couple of blokes out at Point Peron bogged to axles. Why is the council leaving it this time round? I can understand a few days to a week delay, but now its been a number of weeks, surely they must be feeling the heat from the public to do something. I think i could have stayed at ramp charging $20 a snatch out and made a killing.

Honestly, i'm still learning.
Yes. South of Rotto.
Honestly, i'm still learning.
It was a nice 50m ledge (280m-330m) with good readings on top, 20m from bottom, but think that was bait as no bites there, bites came from about 50m further up on the ledge with no readings of fish.
All i know is fish the top of the ledges and you're in with a good chance and void of green eyes.

Point person ramp
yeah similar situation happen to me on Sunday morning pull up to the ramp go to set up ropes on the boat while the previous boater was trying to get out to no avail had to back down connect the snatch trap to the trailer and get him out. Backed down to check the depth and couldn't get the water up past the hubs on the trailer so had to launch at the ramps down near Palm beach it's the worst I've ever seen the ramps down there hopefully it gets rectified sooner than later.

Pp ramps, I reckon we may be getting set up to have to pay to use. Either that or there is Just too much sand to move?
Weather was lovely and this weekend looks good to!

Don't say that....we don't
Don't say that....we don't wanna be like eastern states. Surely licencing fees should be enough to cover this. See ramprage.com.au/ and the problems they're facing. Looks like we could be following suite....
