Bag limits per boat

 .

Hi guys

Probably an obvious question to most but one that caused great debate on our boat yesterday was how many fish licenses (therefore bag limits) per boat is allowed. We had 3 license holders so does that entitle us to 6 dolphin fish or is there a maximum per boat. Does the rule apply to all species or do different species (crays) have different "licenses per boat" limits.

Sorry I tried trolling the fisheries website but couldn't find any clear answer

Its a max of two per angler fora combined bag the top pelagics.

Maybe mix it up a bit, they freeze like crap and are only any good fresh.

freezing them

I think youll find that the bigger they are, the better they freeze. Also that smaller ones can at random be quite mushy frozen or otherwise.

We used to pack and freeze them skin on to sell to fish and chip shops, and they were in high demand for a good price and never had any come backs after giving them 10kg frozen for free to try. But we never kept the smaller ones.

Maybe you're right, but it

Maybe you're right, but it seems they're not usually commercially targetted because of the soft flesh.

They're also susceptible to that same protozoan infection that makes sambo/Aj/YTK mushy when cooked. That would really piss me off if I had bothered to stab > ice > fillet > vac pack > defrost > cook > rubbish bin!
