Baitrunner 6500B vs 12000D vs Thunnus 12000

Hi,

i'm looking at getting a big baitrunner to match up with my 12' Ugly Stik for beach and rock fishing, as well as some bottom bouncing on a smaller rod. At the moment I can't decide whether to spend the extra $ on a 12000D or Thunnus or go with the tried and tested 6500B? I have heard reports of the D and Thunnus having gear problems and that the 6500B isn't as amenable to use with braid as the other two.....

Has anyone out there had experience with these reels and if so what are your thoughts?

Cheers!

Matt

I got an 8000d and my cousin has a 12000 thunnus. I much prefer his thunnus and havent heard of any "gear" issues or at least his doesnt. Hes landed some big fish on his thunnus.

I have a new thunnus 8000. It is hands down the nicest baitrunner style reel i have ever used. Its way smoother than the baitrunner d series and fairly

Light as well :) rate it very highly well worth the extra money!

the 1200d is a really nice real, no gear problems yet. as brg said the 12000d is a bit heavy and probably not suitable for beach.... good for bottom bouncing though :)
