Ballooning setup

Hi Guys

Looking at getting setup to do a bit of balloon fishing and was wondering if anyone out there has some suggestions on rods and reels to use,it will be mainly for off the rocks up north.

Cheers Choc.

Live Fibre LBG

The Live Fibre LBG 9ft 15-24kg rod has been a popular seller for us over the past 6 months. Plenty of up and go to use locally and plenty of boys have been using them to chase the Mackies up at Quobba and Steep point. This rod matched upto a 30-50 size overhead reel as mentioned by Rig will be a perfect set up. We have one of these rods left instock, If you wanted to have a look.

Cheers

My big 'Steep Stick' is a Snyder Glas FT120 6W matched with a Deep Spool Alvey 651C5.

The alveys got plenty of winching power and plenty of line for balooning, the Snyder is like a broom stick, i'm really happy with this setup.

My last trip to Steep I managed to winch in a 2.5-3m shark (after an hour, we cut it off at the base of the cliffs - toooo heavy to lift)
