Ballooning this weekend

Hey guys haven't tried ballooning before but since there is a bit of easterly coming up this weekend i was thinking of giving it a go. Probably end up going to preston.
what you reckon?
other ideas for places most welcome. Am living in mandurah and unfortunately no 4x4 :-(

Helium or just air in
Helium or just air in balloons? If just air your going to struggle to get a balloon out from a beach being your first time. I would suggest finding a rockwall or groyne to make life a bit easier getting that balloon out. If helium I would suggest not wasting perfectly good balloons & helium this far south, take a nice long drive up to wagoe or something instead.
No don't I didn't say go buy helium & big balloons to try to justify a trip away to your significant other, unless of course that is likely to work :-)

was talking about air i deed ;-).
Might just let it go then. Because i don't think that ballooning of the rocks i. Dawesville cut will work as there may be boats out

What about from the southern
What about from the southern 1/2 of the south wall (the one sticking furthest out to sea) at the cut? I haven't spent any time there but it looks like you would be able to put a balloon out a couple of hundred meters without too much worry about boat traffic.
