During the runoff
I believe during the runnoff - just about everyman and his dog hires a guide and hits corrobory billabong? (sp?).
No doubt theres a heck of a lot more good spots for those in the know!!
Good luck!

I've heard the Daly is one
I've heard the Daly is one of the best rivers up there. It's where the barra classic and barra nationals are held.

King Ash Bay
King Ash Bay goes alright (Booraloola). There's a fishing village there and also house boats. It's only half hour full steam to the mouth and then you can skip out to Vandalin Island. You'd better check the Barra season though.

Victoria River
If your seriously looking to tackle some big saltwater barra, and your going to drive up from Perth, the tidal sections of the Victoria River below Timber Creek hold some excellent fish (particularly 60kms downriver where the Baines River meets the Vic). If your lucky enough to time the run-off just perfectly, your in for some mind blowing fishing.
If you wan't to know any detailed info about this stretch of river Ugly Stik feel free to PM me.
