Kevlacat

I've swapped boats with Macka a few times and skippered this one. It takes a while to get used to the way they handle, they kinda hop from one sponson to the other and give you the feeling that you are going over but thats just the way they work. You cant turn sharply at speed because they lean out rather than into the turn; although some cats dont (dominator/powercat).

I beleive that the Kevlacats are the pick of the bunch in the cat world and once you get used to them you wont go back to mono (thats wat Macka tells me). Into a big sea they are lousy but in all other seas you wont touch them.

Would I buy one?.................Maybe; if I did it would likely be a Kevlacat or Noosacat around 26' to 30'. Like most boats, they get better as they get bigger.

For the time being I'll stick to the one i've got.

 cheers  Mick
