Barra Fishing

Hey Guys..

 

Been living up here in Port since November, but havent had a great deal of luck when it comes to Barramundi... im not asking for your spots, but whats the chances of catching one with out a 4x4???

 

what sort of spots should i be looking?

dont need a 4X4 to catch barra up here, helps to reduce amount of walking, also depends if you just want to catch saltwater or freshwater fish

went down to Redbank this morning, good looking spot, lots of big mullet swimming around, if i didnt screw my net at finicune island the other day i would have got a few. i threw my net right over oyster covered rocks.. stupid stupid me

 

im living in south hedland

is redbank any good?

i can't help with the Hedland area, i'd say it'll just be perserverance. fish the change of the tide on the low, live bait and probably at night if you can as they seem to be active in the dark.

Redbank holds lots of mullet but haven't heard of people getting much in the way of fish on rod and reel, have you tried 6 mile?, just watch out for the mud gecko (croc) that has been sighted around of late
