Bay of rest long tom pics

Awesome fun popping for yellow fin whiting and long toms. The little metal jigs worked a treat retrieved flat out too. Thats fisho-ron in the background. A beautiful part of Exmouth, despite the flies. I also managed some cool vid footage of some of those little fiddler sharks being spooked as I walked along the beach.

A little Panasonic DMC - FT10
Got it for my 50th, so still learning how to use it.
As the boys said I needed longer arms for the video I tried to shoot of gully's cod release. (hehehe)
Most of those pics are actually screen shots from some video footage I took whilst playing with the longtoms.

Great shots Andy
Now I am more interested in the popping for YFW. Did you have any success and if so what popper did you use. Thinking off a change of feed up here in Kcity targetting some yellow fins for easter Friday dinner on one of the Island in the Archi.

YFW
I used a small bubble pop popper with a very light leader (better to use flurocarbon as we were catching them in very skinny water.
I cast over the banks and worked the lure back in with hoards of whiting following. Either fast mini bloops worked or sometimes slow pauses worked depending on the mood of the fish.
Only time we got them was on the incoming tide and on the outgoing tide. During the peak they moved into the thick mangroves and we turned or attention to the long toms and trevally etc from the beaches.
Hope that helps Neels... Lucky Tim did better than us on the same morning, but not sure what stage of the tide he fished.

Cheers Andy
Certainly will give this a go. Also very tempted to try a very light long tapper leader and a 4wt rig and see if they take a small fly. That will be a hoot.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
