Beach rig help

Hey fellas,
Just seeing what sort of rig you guys use from a beach, I'm not having alot of luck laterly, I'm using a running sinker on the main line, swivel, then about a meter trace to my hooks, any other advice would be great. Cheers Rick

Depends on what you want to

Depends on what you want to catch? I use a paternoster for Skippy and herring but with a burley cage sinker and use Coral prawns for bait(killer rig). If chasing Tailor three way swivel and  about 500mm leader to sinker and 300-400mm leader to gangs. I only use 30-40lb mono for leader. Go heavier for bigger fish. There are guys on here who'll give you advice on heavier rigs.

Your rig sounds fine for the bigger species, but depends what you are targeting ..My best tip is .... Go to where the fish get caught, and learn what conditions are the best for these places and the results will follow. The internet is great to speed up the learning process. Also note when others brag on here what they caught ..it will help you learn even if your not out there doing it yourself. For example ..someone resultly gave away their favourite spot on here, where they have been regualrly catching big tailor at night all year in metro waters ..... Have you tried there ???...  there is a wealth of knowledge on this website if u use it. Just like you did with this thread , good luck

Well said mate. Rick that rig is pretty much all I use to fish bottom. For smaller species I'll use paternoster. I tend to change from the rig you use to a surface rig if nothing's happening.
