Beginner Crossing hill river mouth next week

Taking the family to Jurien pinnacles ect. Next week end.

I just wondered if any one had any current knowledge on if it would be possible/advisable to cross the river mouth at hill river?

I won't have a second vehicle with us.

Cheers.

Not sure

Not sure on the current state of the river mouth. Not usually too hard to cross unless the mouth is open to the sea.

My only advise is stay as far away from the edge of the river as possible. It looks like hard sand but is a thin crusty layer on top of black mud, and even with a good 4x4 you will start to sink and get in trouble very quickly.

There is a couple of options

There is a couple of options when driving a 4wd and shit gets tough...

You can either - A - Nurse it through but that might take you half a dozen attempts which could fail or...

B - Give it shit and hopefully smash through the tough bit once. I prefer option 2...

At least you given it your best shot once, of course within reason, we not talking about a hire car after all....
