Bent butt deep dropping rod
Submitted by tot on Mon, 2022-02-28 19:21
So I have a leccy reel on the way - Beastmaster 9000, next step is rod.
Lots of cheapies around , are they just that or are they any good?
Happy to spend around 500.
Please advise..

Shimano Status
Hey mate I recently used a mates set up with the Shimano Status PE 8 - 10 which seemed pretty well matched to the Beastmaster reel. Comes in under you $500 budget too.

If you are just going to
If you are just going to leave it in rod holder pretty much anything will do. Does not need to be that flash.

Thanks for the replys
guy's, cheers.
Good thanks Jon, be good to say hi down your way soon! Hows the new sounder going??
Is full rollers a good thing with briad? I was always of the thought that it can ping if caught on the side so to me its a no-no.
The swivel tip roller is a good idea as that would always be under load I spose..dunno.
Yes Bryce will probably stay in the holder but may still fish a manual reel with stand up harness. What are you going to be running? From memory you had a semi commercial type set up.
Cheers Spicey will have a look.
Andy we are definitely due for a fish

pretty much anything will do just fine.

Battery
I use a standalone iTech120x lithium battery.
Runs 2 reels all day for very minimal battery loss
