I havent used the 24kg but my mate has been using the 15kg for a while and I was so impressed with it I just bought a 1200m spool of 15kg to spool up my Diawa SLD30 and Penn 950.
I have used Triene for years without a problem. I use it on both overheads and threadline reels, also on an Alvey.
I have tried lots of other top brands and continue to come back to the Trilene.
One thing i suggest is buy the 1200 m spools. It works out a lot cheaper . My Alvey takes 600m of 15kg so i get 2 spools out of it, wich keeps that reel loaded for a few years.
Whered you see it for $34? I have a topshot on a reel atm, but will eventually need to replace.
Seems not that thin, and not super soft though. It seems that the 'trolling' lines tend to be thicker though (explained as being more 'consistent' supposedly). A very reputable brand though and a lot of people use and recommend it. Personally I prefer stren gold. It feels a little nicer, but mostly cause its actually visible in the spread. I dont know why berkley cant come out with a more visible colour. Sure, the blue, clear and green are great options to have, but theres no standout colours if thats what you prefer. Green does a little but not like the stren.
They used to have trilene gold, was probably the best line they had but they stopped making it for some reason. In fact it is sogood i've still got my everol spooled with it and its over 11 years old now and still breaks at the recomended breaking strain.

Mono
As far as monofilament goes, trilene big game is pretty good value for money. Prefer the clear colour myself.

Use the gold as well
Have to agree, I use Trilene the most , but have started to turn to the Stren Gold.
It has preformed very well and i too try to use different coloured line on my reels , so i can untangle or see lines more easily.
