Hi everyone, i know its not fishing but i thought maybe a few of you have or had a pool at some stage. Im just wondering if any of you have had a good experience/ good deal with a specific seller or maybe if any of you do pools for a living. What to look for etc. We are looking for about a pool between 4-6m. If theres any good advice out there aswell as we are a young couple so a pool ona budget would be good.
Thanks to all ideas:)

Just don't do it. Pretty
Just don't do it. Pretty funny but it often reduces the value of your house so just get a friend with a pool =)

Pool
Get one, you will love it. Not much work and bugger all expense.
I have not met anyone who would say they are happy with their pool supplier/installer (go on someone will pipe up). It seems to be an industry standard. There is always complaints with the pool not being level, the dodgy job they do of backfilling the sides (just tell them to leave it and you will fill it slowly, trust me on that), that getting it to completion takes forever. I had one friend wait three weeks for the pump and filter to be fitted, not good with 40000L of static water out your back door.
If you want budget maybe a 2nd hand/refurb pool from DJ Pools. Can be $5k cheaper than new.

Riverina pools are good if
Riverina pools are good if your after something in fiberglass. If you looking for a concrete pool then we have used 5 star pools twice and i have worked with them in the past, they do an awesome custom pool but they will stick to a budget.
We have never had a problem with selling our home with a pool..
Good luck

i think a pool is something
i think a pool is something that would suit our lifestyle wopjrb, we live close to the beach (5mins mullaloo beach) and we are there most of the time with the boat and with me surfing. We just cant get enough of the water and will spice up the look of the house too. Though its just a thought atm

Pools
We bought our pool through Freedom pools, it's only a small lap pool with swim jets and a spa bed. It's gas heated and I love the bloody thing, and contrary to what other people think, it is very low maintenance. Had it now for 3 years and I have never put anything in it apart from the occasional bag of salt. One of the better investments we've made!!

I worked for poly pools for
I worked for poly pools for 2 years during my time at uni, they make custom sized pools. Talk to shane the owner im sure he might be able to help you out. They used brickwork in the past for the outer shell which is then rendered and a liner goes over the top. I believe they have now moved to a metal frames, cheaper and quicker. The liners can be expensive depending on the size.

Pools...
We are also in the market for a pool and have been looking for the past few weeks. Our impression was that the Clarke rubber pools are cheap, but not long term, as the colourbond sides will need to be covered and when someone jumps in, the sides bow - the inground option would be better, but by the time you have added the salt option and frills, you are almost at the price of a real pool!
We looked at various fibreglass pools and need a 4-5m long x 3-4m wide to fit in our garden, but as it is going in a corner, the steps need to be on the left. riviera, were the most expensive and only do square/rectangle pools, no round shapes, but promise you never needs to be recoated like the cheaper pools - if you have a salt pool, which is virtually maintenance free. the cheaper pools for the same size need recoating every 6 years to the tune of around $6k... their pools are also 12mm thick and look very sturdy and have a glittercoat choice of colours - around $19k fitted. Their pools are measured in water space where everyone elses is total pool size.A lifetime Warranty is given. Pity the dude had a bad attitude, imagine trying to get him to fix a botched job?.
Bay pools and spas have the rounded pools in the same size, but are made of thinner fibre and need to be recoated if salt water is used, but have a cool 4.8m x 3.2m oval pool that has a couple of spa seats and a blower option for around $14.5K. they seemed very keen to help and cool attitide. ..But add the $6k for recoating twice in the life of the pool and...work it out for yourself.. The auto pool cleaners also do not work properly in the small pools, so I was told.
There was another place in Rockingham that I went to and they had the smaller pools too - a full display with the pools in the ground, but the lady there did not really know what she was talking about, but the pools were also thicker and it is nice to see the pools in the ground. there option was $18,9K for a 6m x 4M, but the steps were on the wrong side...
Bottom line, we have not made our mind up yet, but the Riviera guy said there was a pool show in April and they were having cool specials oat the show, so we will wait till then...
Hope this helps...

Tips
Oversize everything (bigger sand filter, bigger pumps etc,)
Hayward vac cleaners are brilliant, but cost a bob or two.
Be prepared for a big electricity bill. Especially if you have a spa.
take photo's along the way if you are having conctrete pool as its an interesting process.
If you are on the top of a hill like me, budget extra for excavation as we found that the whole back yard was a mountain of caprock.
Once its in though you will love it.
Cheers
