Best Camping invention/tool/idea.......

 Gday Fella`s,

I`m sure its been done here before but i thought i`d re-ignite the issue. I know there are some creative bush mechanics amongst us.... As most of us go Glamping nowadays with everything that opens n shuts i`m looking for some new ideas and anyway its a good opener for guys to have a spruke about their creativness on here...

I`m not sure its so creative but the 12v LED light strips ( 5 m x 300 leds for $18 on ebay ) is something that has made nighttime like daylight at my camp now - Gone are the days of replacing the mantels in a poxy gas lantern in my camp!!!

Attached is a pic of camp cable tie @ night - 10m of LED action visible from space........

and bought a length a clear plastis tube and pulled the strip light inside it and sealed it off at the ends.works a treat and you don`t have to be too gentle with the strip lights.

The best thing we ever took

Sun, 2013-07-21 15:19

The best thing we ever took camping was a homemade hotwater heater that ran off bottled gas. A little instantaneous unit with a pressure pump for the fresh water. Sure beat cold showers if you could handle the change from freezing cold to boiling hot . How we didnt blow up half of Steep Point is beyond me !

bush camping

Sun, 2013-07-21 16:58

Where has all the fun of camping in the bush gone, sitting around a below ground camp fire not talking just listening to the sounds of the bush and the sounds of the wild life. No loud music no other light except that from the moon and stars, sleeping in a swag knowing that there is no other human within 60-70 miles of your spot.

Might do but a burnt arse is more painful than putting up with the cold. know a few people that have fallen off their chair from time to time.....

Megladon, All the camping

Tue, 2013-07-23 21:00

Megladon,

All the camping under the stars out in the bush hasn`t gone anywhere...

Get a feed cooked, dishes done, even a shower then kick back around the fire and do the star gazing fire crackling thing...

The pic above was at Cape Arid, there was only a couple of other campers around last year and less when we went back this year...

Having mod cons to keep the Missus a bit keener is a way to ensure that you do get away a few times a year like we do...
