Best fish you've ever caught at the busselton jetty?

I been fishing the busselton jetty for nearly 1 and a half years...not as much as the older locals but haha. But I was just wondering if any of you locals have caught anything at the jetty that was just out of the ordinary like a queenfish or a spaniar! Because my best at the jetty would probably a striped tuna which weighed 11kg.
cheers Daniel :)

A man called TOM
Yeh a couple of years back we got 2 long toms there in one afternoon, not that uncommon there
in some years apprently, about double the length of a normal gardie.
Funny thing is one passing dude swore on his mothers grave that they were gardies , dispite me showing him the
parallel jaws full of teeth, both were duly released, probally into the jaws of your 11kg tuna!

11kg would have been 2kg
11kg would have been 2kg over the state record!

Many many years ago I pulled
Many many years ago I pulled up a 20KG Sambo on rope line with a plaited 200lb trace and a 14/0 hook embedded in a big live squid. Rope tied to the train track. I do things differently now.
The best thing I saw in terms of fish taking bait was about a 10kg Sambo. I was at the end (before the fire and before the underwater observatory) and saw it swim in. I had no heavy gear out but had a heavy rod and double snelled hook set up ready. However the only bait I had was a squid that was still alive but was so big that his hood was sticking well out of the top of a 20l bucket. What the hell - stuck it on, pitched him in and stood holding the rod. The squid held about three meters below the surface in chrystal clear water. After about 10 minutes the sambo (or a sambo) appeared, flew toward the bait, ran three wide circles around it and then hit it and that massive squid just disappeared. I would not have believed it could have wolfed that bait down.
The gear was quite heavy and the fight was pretty short.
Also saw a long finned tuna about the size of a dolphin there about 15 years ago. That was amazing. I think that was the type - it had the big long thin dorsal fin.

Not much of a fish but I got
Not much of a fish but I got a big fat orange octopus a few weeks back. Silly bugger snagged himself on a 5" ghost pearl jerk minnow that had turned lime green. It won when it gripped the jetty with its tentacles. Would that be out of the ordinary for there? Sure was weird.

Personally
just a couple of Mulloway in the high teens but there were Spaniards caught this year and in years gone by there used to be runs of Southern Bluefin out at the end but now that the jetty is shorter you dont here of it happening?

Interesting
a 20kg Striped Tuna you say?
The state record is 10kg and Australian record is 12kg so someone better get some scales down there and set some records!!!!!

Striped Tuna
They do grow them big sometimes. Get to over 30kg.

Been plenty caught over 10kg offshore from Perth. Have heard of other bigger ones in OZ but most of the real big ones are from other countries.
