Dirty sticking thief, throw the F#@%&^% book at him, name and shame then take the boat and everything associated with fishing and I would bet both my nuts (had kids already) that he has been at some stage taken lobster as well if he goes to leeman.
I would be absolutely stoked just to catch a big dhuie like the closest one in the picture and be done for the day. This bloke is obviously just a greedy prick who is probably selling the catch. Why else would you go up to leeman by yourself and catch that many fish knowing you are breaking the law.. I hope he fronts the hardest magistrate we have and he forfeits the boat and all the gear.. Can't wait for the full story where they name him and where he's from other than Southern Suburbs....
I hope the story hits the tv news and the news papers. What a bastard, if ever there is a case where the boat, trailer, car and all the fishing gear should be confiscated this is it.
Yep. Reason he has just started fishing up there was he was struggling to get a fish metro so started travelling further.
Just spent big $$ on a full boat refurb too and now I'd guess there is a fair chance he will lose it or have to sell to pay a large fine. Im sure he has regret but at the end of the day it's gone well beyond the one extra sneaky dhu that wouldn't release.
As you say the reason we have these bag limits is because catches like this were just a normal day out for our parents.
Yeah I do think the fisheries deserve congratulations for stinging someone who has obviously been flaunting rules completely, I understand people on here know him but tough s@#$ what an ass#$_&. I certainly don't believe this is a once of situation this is why fisheries knew to board him word gets around in small towns. Now I know part of the reason why I struggled to catch anything decent up at Leeman at Xmas that and me being totally useless. He is going out and catching 10 peoples limit.
Was down at Palm beach a few years back with my old man (80+) when stopped by fisheries for a chat. They offered my old man a few nice KG's that some young fellas had just speared over at Point Peron illegally. Said they normally take the fish to a local old persons home or similar, but they didn't have the time. They took down my dad's details and asked to see his eniors card, said they have to account for everything.
As for the OP, that's a cracking day out solo, but seriously out of order!
Sounds a bit more than struggles locally so heads North to catch a few.
Ive fished leeman once...no spots and was lucky to hit a few good snapper after doing 60-70km day. That there is massive for a single bloke in under one days fishing.
He must have been doing it on a semi regular basis to find honey holes like that...then to hit them hard in the one day he was surely supplying to small business or the likes.
Absolutely agree mate, no sympathy here at all. You can come up with all the excuses under the sun but at the end of the day he's knowingly smashed it.
can't remember what the weather was like then - but may have been an overnighter - so over 2 days? just looking at the number of fish there makes my arms and back ache - i'd be rooted by the end of that lot if it was one day!
waiting on results from mandurah pro . Long lining for pinks . That one kept quiet . Pretty quick to nail amateurs . No congrats from me regarding bust . Done wrong agree . Guy still running pro boat . Go figure . Rules are rules . Why wasn’t his boat taken away ? Seems okay for some .

Throw the book at him and loose the key . Hope he looses big time and it may just send a good message to some that choose to flaunt the laws.

I know him. Can't defend him but he certainly doesn't usually catch much. Hard to picture how a good day out could of escalated so quickly.

Fark would've been good fun at the time...
Thats a hot bite that is for sure...
To think how frowned upon this is today was probably a very common occurance not too many years ago...
QLD you can still bring in a boat limit of 60 fish I think...
Would you say out of character for this chap dodgy?

Add a bit to the story
I'm sure a lot of us would like to hear more about this activity and perhaps ask the minister what the hell.
