Yeah Paul, I am having a crack. Had a trial run yesterday in bloody aweful conditions to reccie some ground. Had a great day but not on species on the prize list.....time to rethink.
How crazy do the ramps get, and where is best to launch from. Not done one before.

I did one launching out of Hillaries once. Ramps were not as bad as I expected, just get there early enough before it starts and wait in the marina until the opening bell.
It is pretty chaotic steaming out of the marina though when the comp starts. Surrounded by 50+ other boats all going full tilt. One guy came pretty near to cleaning me up!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

I don't want to Jinx it
but it does look like being good weather, which makes a change. I might even have a crack this year as long as my boat comes out of its service today in good nick. It coincides with my birthday so not a bad omen as we usually get some good fish on birthdays. Might see you guys down the ramp at Ocean Reef.
