bluies??

 gday all

its been a while since I checked the forum! was wondering if the bluies are still around the Swan atm? would love to give it a crack after looking at people getting heaps of them last week.

Any info about the spots would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Review based from watching

Tue, 2011-02-15 13:14

Review based from watching boats and people at Jetty drop nets and snorkeling the areas alot.

  • Claremont area= not much action at all.
  • Pt Walter area= not much action unless you like female crabs.
  • Bicton Baths=not much action.
  • Black Wall Reach= Should turn up some no problems.
  • East Freo=not much action
  • Como Jetty=not much action occational swimming on top water.

I can say the big blueys arnt really in the shallows anymore below 4-5m very scattered compared to a month ago, try deeper water its my guess that they are down there partying.

Ryan (shop owner) has been getting them still in the shallows but up river a smidge, he reckons they hang around till end of Feb and then they will be heading deeper.

Im not aware of too many deeper spots in the river? Blackwall was a bit quiet on Sunday, only got 7, but didnt have fresh bait as I was cleaning out the bait freezer.

2-5m for Ryan of late from what he said today in the shop, i'm assuming deeper would be 10-20m.

The deepest point in the Swan

Wed, 2011-02-16 15:34

The deepest point in the Swan is about 21m, so you're spot on there Brody. (http://www.swanrivertrust.wa.gov.au/trust/about/Content/faqs.aspx)

21m is about 69 feet, so maybe someone got the number but not the units right thesupervisor?

Not an easy job, they where thick couple of weeks ago.

Lets see how it holds next few weeks.
