A few years ago, a boat got towd to Fremantle sailing club smouldering. The Fire-o's pumped it full of water and the fire was put out, with the boat sitting in the water in the lifter.

The next day, when Dad's boat was due to be lifted, we went down to see the fire fighters assisting to put out the fire on the lifter. Boat re-ignighted overnight and caused a heap of damage to the lifter in the process.

Plenty of stuff in boats that can hold an ember and just slowly maintain heat and then go up.
