Boat fishing numbers down?

Over the last 6 months worth of boat fishing outitings (at least once a fortnight) in fantastic boating weather and I've noticed very few boats out (Cockburn snapper run aside).

Are there less people fishing from boats these days? maybe due to rising fuel prices and boat ownership costs?

Been way too busy with work and taking family out camping so haven’t had the boat out for ages.

Hopefully shoot over to the montes this weekend to make up for it.

Not down here at the boat

Tue, 2018-09-18 13:52

Not down here at the boat Ramps-the weekends have been very busy. Even the overflow parking has been full. The Rockingham Rangers have been having a great time, issuing Parking Infringement fines on vehicles/trailers parked on the grassed verges.  But maybe all this is because the snapper ban will come in soon.

Yeah have to agree the weather hasn’t been that great however there has been a few really nice days too and seems quite to me or maybe I’m just fishing the less frequented areas. I always launch from point Perron

Started in the summer

for me. Didnt even get accross to Rotto last summer.

Combination of weather and work unfortunately.

Water temp along the coast ( south of Perth ) this year was also a bit differen to last year.

This appears to have affected both the weather and the fishing......for me at least!
