Boat Trailer

Ok guys, it's that time. Unfortunately my trailer is on its way out and it's time to look at a new one to suit my 6.1mtr Quintrex ocean sport. Looking to get an ally I-Beam with and extendable draw bar for beach launch. Any of you top blokes out there got some good advice or know any local good manufacturers of trailers that won't break the bank?

i dont have a recommendation, but i do have one i would not recommend.

Ace trailers, Their trailers dont look the best (I dunno what the go is with the bending of the checker plate ali for the guards) and they are hopeless to deal with.

I tried even with the owner, and almost impossible to get a response from them.

Quite a few i know who have been in contact or dealt with them have found the same

I've heard that...

...but I had a trailer for my 7.5m ali boat built by Ace Trailers and I had a really good experience.

Appearance wise, I often get remarks about how good it looks (I beefed everything up to make it bullet proof).  240mm I beam, 2 ton axles, hubs and bearings.  Ali mesh walkway. 2 x spare wheels/hubs. Price was reasonable.

Agree that the wheel guards are the weak point....they need to sort that out

I only spoke to Guy yesterday to ask where I can get some spare bearings.  He missed my call, but rang back a few minutes later.  I have heard reports that he's hard to contact, but not in my experience.

I would certainly use him again.

That Goldstar trailer is a knock off of the old Trailcraft trailers.

I have one of the Trailcraft versions, its 12 years old and still looking good.

Only parts with any rust are the back wobble rollers which are made from RHS, but I have just had these redipped.

Great trailer.

Parabolic springs have been great too.

This pic is from the day I got the boat, 12 years ago, but it still looks the same today.

Tezza's Trailers make these too.
