assuming your talking about the legal side rather than mechanical/inspection?

If it has a VIN number, best to a REVS (now called PPR I think) check and maybe police. And also ask the seller why he has no papers for it?

If it turns out to be stolen of course its gone straight away.

But also if the VIN number "cant be found" or isnt legible then you may have to register it as a new build in your name with a new VIN number

it really does depend on the circumstances-a previously licenced one with VIN and no history is of course going to be a bit sus in the eyes of the authorities

Stat Dec'

is all that's required with a piece of paper signed by the seller stating they have sold the trailer or whatever to you.

If you have a trailer that hasn't been licenced for sometime, same deal re the stat dec applies.

Going through same deal ATM.

yeah a stat dec helps though

yeah a stat dec helps though a stat dec for a previously stolen trailer doesnt change that it will get confiscated when you try and register.

Still need to follow due diligence before buying
