boat transport from NSW
Submitted by wez0062 on Thu, 2020-02-06 09:43
Guys, can anyone please offer any ideas they have on what it would cost to transport a 26ft boat from Newcastle, NSW back to Perth? I have found my dream boat, but just not sure about transport costs, before i head over to inspect the boat.
Any advise would be great, thanks in advance

Give Ben at fibrelite boats
Give Ben at fibrelite boats a call. He has been organising a few lately. Being 26 foot it is likely oversize and probably work out cheaper using ocean freight.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Spill the beans
What be your potential new ride ?
A Veitch ?
Is it on a trailer ?
Wayne from Boatco transported my 28 ft cat from Perth to Carnarvon for a reasonable price .
if you need his number let me know , really nice guy and he doesn't mess about with getting the job done .
It cost me $4400 from Port Bouvard to C'von . I'd guesstimate around the 15k mark for what you're chasing . If it's on a trailer then it's a different can o worms , good luck to you!.

dream boat, upgrading to a 26ft Bertram
The boat is on a "jinker". To pay $15K transport would just kill the whole deal. I was hoping for no more than 6 or 7K. BUGGER

Full trailer
looking at roughly $8,600 AUD for a full trailer from Newcastle to Perth, pending length and if out of gauge or not, look at coastal freight options for possibly half of what you were willing to pay ;)

Currently $4.6K to get a Reefrunner over
But this is from Melbourne to Perth, on a trayback. Half the weight of the 26, I reckon.

About $5K
I paid about $5k about 5 years ago for freight by truck from Melb to Perth. That was a legal width 22ft boat and trailer that fit onto a transporter so no wide loads etc.

How did you go
Hey Wez - how did you go with transport ???
I am looking at sending a boat west to east ( Perth to mackay ) and im just wondering if you couls share your findings? My boat is much smaller, 19ft baron sportsman remake- its probably only worth 20K and so far im looking at $6500 for transport. I do love the boat so I would love to keep it but cost of boat Vs freight is making it hard to justify.
Did you look into coastal freight as EKUL mentioned ????
Thanks for any input
